On the 16 November 2024 from 10am-4pm, SouthFest will again bring life to the streets, laneways and lake foreshore of the Tuggeranong Town Centre. This vibrant festival brings together the best of Tuggeranong, celebrating our community’s spirit, creativity, and sustainability as per the SouthFest core Objectives:
- Celebrate: Highlight life and achievements in the Tuggeranong Valley.
- Showcase: Promote local businesses, art, and performance.
- Connect: Facilitate connections between individuals, families, and local organizations.
- Invigorate: Breathe new life into the Tuggeranong Town Centre.
Oganisations big and small are collaborating to deliver one big party that will bring the whole community together for a day of celebration, markets, food, activity and entertainment. SouthFest is planning to create zones that will link together to bring the whole event precinct to life. They will include:
- A Marketplace: Explore a diverse range of stalls offering unique products, local crafts, and delicious treats.
- Arts & Crafts: Participate in interactive arts and crafts activities suitable for all ages. Stalls plus activities at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre
- Games and Activities: Enjoy a variety of fun games and activities designed for families and children
- Youth Activities, supported by Communities at Work
- A selection of Food vendors: Savour delicious food and beverages from local vendors
- Community Hub: groups, organisations and agencies that make our community a better place to live.
- Sustainability area plus workshops– showing ways of managing our resources in a sustainable way. Supported by Icon Water
- Health and Wellbeing stalls and workshop, with a focus on connecting our community with businesses, organisations and activities that encourage activity, health and wellbeing.
- Performances and Live Music: Experience performances from many local groups and talented local musicians, adding a festive atmosphere to the event.
Southfest is organised by the Tuggeranong Community Council with the support of many local community groups, aiming to bring people together and celebrate the vibrant culture of Tuggeranong. This free-entry event is perfect for families, friends, and individuals looking to enjoy a day of fun and community spirit.
