Next Meeting 6 December 2016

Our next Tuggeranong Community Council (TCC) meeting will on the 6th December at the Vikings Tuggeranong Town Centre Club. We will hear about the the proposed ‘new natural play space” at Tuggeranong Town Centre Park from the prize winning ‘Harris Hobbs Landscapes’ and hope to hear the latest from the Tuggeranong Arts Centre. We will then have a small Christmas get together.

Liveability Survey Results

Spring Lake Cleanup

On Sunday the 23 October, twenty nine people signed up to help clean up Lake Tuggeranong for our annual Spring cleanup.  It was great to see that the lake itself did not have as much rubbish around it as has been seen in the past.  Maybe this is because more people are aware and not throwing rubbish around, or, maybe more locals are being responsible and picking up rubbish or, maybe it is just because the recent rains flushed a lot of the rubbish down stream.

Response To Draft EIS for Proposed Plastic to Fuel Processing Plant Hume

While Tuggeranong Community Council (TCC) recognises the value of converting waste into useful products and the introduction of new recycling technologies, in appropriate locations, the ACT government needs to ensure that such processing is safe and does not put anything into the atmosphere or cause any nuisance that could negatively affect nearby residents.

TCC President’s Report – 4th October 2016

In addition to the committee members who were voted in last meeting we have now seconded Andrew Eppelstum to be our new Secretary. Andrew and Taryn, the new coordinator of the Community Health and Education subcommittee, are now looking after the TCC Facebook presence and for the first time we used Facebook to promote the Brindabella Candidates Forum. The forum, was held on Wednesday 14th September at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre.

Next Meeting – 1 Nov 16

At the next meeting of the Tuggeranong Community Council on Tuesday the 1st November At the Vikings Town Centre Club, we will hear about what is happening with roads in Tuggeranong – what is planned and when it will happen.  We will also hear from McKillop students about what they want for Tuggeranong

TCC President’s Report – 6th September 2016

This will be the last meeting for this committee that I will report on before the AGM, which will be held later in the night. It has been another eventful month for Tuggeranong. Hopefully by now, you will have filled in out Tuggeranong Livability Survey, designed to find our what people want for Tuggeranong. It is available on our website at www.tuggcc.com
