Our next Tuggeranong Community Council (TCC) meeting is on the 6th September at the Vikings Tuggeranong Town Centre Club. Our guest speakers for the evening will provide an update on the proposed redevelopment of East Greenway. The TCC AGM will then follow.
At the TCC Meeting (August 2nd), Ms Christie Jorgensen from Purdon Associates provided a detailed presentation and update of the building and construction plans for the new area of South Quay to members of the Council, special guests and visitors.
The grand opening of the new Tuggeranong CIT was held on Saturday 30th July. All members of staff were available to escort the community through the new facilities and discuss the courses that will be provided
The West Greenway (Thompson) Community Panel Meeting was held on the 27th July, 2016. The Panel had representatives from environmental groups, community and recreational organisations, Tuggeranong Community Council and local business. The community panel was chaired by Dr David Shorthouse from the ANU.

The ACT Minister, Mr Mick Gentleman advised the meeting on the proposed new suburb of Thompson. The presentation by the Minister stated this region was a (190 hectare) site situated between the Town Centre and the Murrumbidgee River aimed at “stimulating urban renewal in the area, renewing and reinvigorating Tuggeranong”.
On behalf of the Tuggeranong Community Council, I attended on Thursday, 9th June the “Inaugural Meeting” of the Icon Water Community Consultative Forum. This has been formed re Icon Water’s commitment to “two way engagement with the community and the value of leveraging/monitoring the experience and information of forum members to the organisation.”
Exciting News! We have just heard that the new CIT Tuggeranong will be open for business supporting the Tuggeranong community from the 18th July 2016, with the “Grand Opening” on the 30th July

On Wednesday 15 June, Glenys Patulny and Wayne King represented the Tuggeranong Community Council at the official opening of the new Chisholm public housing complex at the corner of Goldstein and Hambridge Crescent Chisholm.
Joy Burch MLA, Member for Brindabella, today celebrated a new Park and Ride facility at the Wanniassa Group Centre, and how it will increase access to public transport for Tuggeranong residents.
“The ACT Government has today announced the Wanniassa Park and Ride and two extra bus stops along the blue rapid route at the Wanniassa Group Centre, to be funded in this year’s ACT Budget,” said Joy Burch.
